The screens often used in screen printing are nylon screen, polyester screen, stainless steel screen

The advantages and disadvantages are as follows:

Nylon wire mesh

Advantages: high elongation; low static electricity; good ink permeability; good resilience; high print resistance;

Disadvantages: poor acid resistance;

Note: It is not suitable to print high-precision products, and it is not suitable to print large products; it is easy to become slack after being immersed in water (or when printing water-based ink);

Polyester screen, also known as polyester screen:

Advantages: chemical resistance;

Disadvantages: low elongation; low printing resistance; low ink permeability; easy to generate static electricity

Matters needing attention: printing solvent-based inks often produce "drawing" phenomenon

Stainless steel wire mesh:

Advantages: small mesh stretchability; high strength; good ink permeability; stable dimensional accuracy; strong water resistance and chemical resistance;

Disadvantages: poor elasticity; expensive

Note: The stainless steel wire mesh cannot be restored to its original shape.

The advantages of screen printing:

(1) Not limited by the size and shape of the substrate

General printing can only be performed on a flat surface, and silk screen printing can not only print on a flat surface but also print on a special shaped molded object such as a spherical surface. Anything with a shape can be screen printed.

(2) Soft layout and small pressure

The wire mesh is soft and elastic.

(3) Strong coverage of ink layer

It can be printed in pure white on black paper, with strong three-dimensional effect.

(4) Suitable for various types of ink

(5) Strong anti-rotation performance

Can make the gloss of the printed matter unchanged. (Neither temperature nor daylight have any effect). This makes it unnecessary to use additional coating and other processes when printing some stickers.
