Common failures and countermeasures of screen printing

There are many reasons for screen printing failures, including screen printing plates, screen printing squeegees, screen printing inks, screen printing equipment, screen printing materials, and operating technology.

Screen printing failures are caused by a single cause, but more are the result of intricate cross-effects of various causes. This is what the operator should pay special attention to when determining the cause of the failure and taking corresponding countermeasures.

    1. Paste version.

Paste is also called blockage, which refers to the phenomenon that the through holes of the screen printing plate cannot transfer ink to the substrate during printing. The appearance of this phenomenon will affect the printing quality, and even the normal printing cannot be performed in severe cases. After the failure of the paste plate occurs, the proper solvent can be used to scrub the ink on the plate.

    2. The edges of the ink film are uneven.

In screen printing products, a common problem is the appearance of jagged burrs on the edges of the printing ink film. There are many reasons for the burrs, but the main reason is the quality of the screen-printed version. When the edges are found to be uneven, when the screen is re-made, under the light of the light source to check through the light source without the installation.

    3. Inaccurate printing position.

Even if there is no problem with the screen size, printing machine, etc., the inconsistent shape of the printing material, excessive and inconsistent material shrinkage, etc. will cause inaccurate printing position. Plastics or materials that require high temperature after printing should be baked at an appropriate temperature first to allow the material to shrink first, and then work.

Fourth, the printing plate leaks ink.

If dust is mixed on the substrate and in the ink, printing is performed without treatment, the plate film will be damaged due to the pressure of the squeegee, and pinholes caused by insufficient exposure during plate making will cause the plate film to leak ink. At this time, you can use tape etc. to paste from the back of the plate for emergency treatment. If this operation is not very rapid, it will dry the ink on the plate and have to wipe the entire plate with a solvent. Wiping the plate is also the cause of the peeling of the plate film, so avoid it. In addition, the part of the plate where the ink leaks and stays often occurs, so it is better to strengthen this part when making the plate.
